Fennel is one of those ingredients that people tend to have strong opinions about… or just haven’t tried. If you’re a skeptic or new to it, let this be the recipe to sway you.
Even though Supper Club menus are changing from dinner to dinner, fennel remains a solid staple in some way or another. And though some have claimed they “don’t usually like it,” we can confirm that plates were cleaaaared!
At last weekend’s dinner, it made an appearance atop the lamb ragu dish and in the goodie bags given to each guest who dined with us. Not literally a head of fennel, but the recipe card (also available at the end of today’s post!). We did include some actual edible goodies in the baggies, but you’ll have to dine with us to find out those details on your own. 😉
This dinner was the best and biggest we’ve hosted so far - and we’re incredibly grateful. It’s crazy to think that we’re basically just a bunch of friends doing their hobbies together and that somehow turns into a beautiful, cozy, giggle-filled night of good conversation, good food, and good company. We love doing what we do and we love doing it with each other. I mean, our group text is literally called the “Dream Team.” Inviting others to bask in the joy we have creating with one another and having them show up is surreal. If you’ve dined with us: thank you. We’re so glad to have you.

Orange & Fennel Salad
As has become custom, we spent our post-Supper-Club-content-day doing more catch-up than content. That’s another perk of working with your friends: recapping the night and planning for the next while we eat delicious leftovers is an entirely productive work day AND cute friend date.

As mentioned, this salad might revolutionize fennel for you. The real trick is to season it well with salt & pepper and toss generously in a good olive oil. It can be served immediately upon preparing, but if it marinates in itself a little while it gets extra tasty (we found that out when we finally sat down for some of the dishes after cleanup).
